We are coming to the time of year when some committee members have to step down as they have served for two consecutive terms.
This year we have 2 vacancies on the committee and we are looking for some like-minded guys and gals that will join the committee to help take the FIL agenda forward.
So what does the committee and how do we get things done I hear you ask!
Our main work focuses are:
We meet 3 times a year in Birmingham, and we also email and teleconference to supplement the meetings.
The committee are volunteers who are all involved in Interlending in some respect and we are from a range of library sectors.
So now that you now, who we are & what we do, you now need to know how you can nominate yourself to join the committee!
To submit a nomination members are asked to submit a 200 word biography and if possible photo of yourself, an additional form will need to be filled in for official documentation purposes.
Voting will take place at the AGM, which is at 9.00am 28th May, 2013 @ Interlend2013.
For those who wish to nominate themselves on the day they will be asked to introduce themselves to the members and give s short (2 minute) overview of who you are and your role.
If we have more than two nominations, all nominees will be asked to leave the AGM before the voting can commence.
I should also mention that you don't have to be at the AGM to be nomianted, so if you wnat to nominate and can't make it to Interlend13 then you can still put yourself forward for nomination - so no excuses really! Although why you wouldn't be at Interlend13 is beyond me!
I've been on the committee nearly 3 years now, and it has been extremely rewarding and worthwhile. I'm also delighted with the progress the committee are making in areas which we've not really looked into before, such as social media and how we can connect with our members.
I would encourage anyone thinking about nominating themselves to get in touch, if you want an informal chat about the committee's work.
