Well, it’s countdown to FIL@BL
event on the 28th. All places
booked; waiting list in place.
Lately, there’s been quite a
discussion over the lists on who is responsible for an ILL in transit. This is encompassed in the Best Practice Guidelines, so maybe they need more promotion so
everyone is aware of them. What do you
think?
They can be found at: http://www.forumforinterlending.org.uk/best-practice-guidelines
As you know, FIL conducted a survey
around ‘best practice’ last year. The
results are being assessed as I write, and it is hoped to present an in depth
analysis after the ‘initial responses’ feedback that Chris gave at this year’s
conference.
I’m hoping that one of the outcomes from the FIL@BL
event will be a ‘straw poll’ of things that ‘bug’ you that could be
emphasised/added to the Best Practice Guidelines .
One of my gripes is when someone
posts an update, but fails to add their BL code. We ‘file’ these messages by
that code, so it can take ages to track down where to add the service update,
change of contact details, whatever.
It would be really helpful if the
attendees at Boston Spa can find time during the day to discuss their ideas of 'Best Practice', and let the FIL committee members there have the feedback to help inform any
modifications of the Guidelines.
We’re listening to you, so speak
up!!
Have a great day,
Su
Bag packed and ready for the next FIL event!
